Lamaze Night

It's Lamaze class night tonight! Woohoo! Hopefully this class will go a little better than last week's. Last week we showed up an hour early and had to wander the hospital to waste time. I was afraid we were going to pick up some crazy virulent new infection bug every time we turned a corner. Then when the class finally did start we noticed everyone was carrying in pillows and blankets. Uh oh.

Sure enough, halfway into the class and the teacher announces "Ok, get out your blanket and your pillows. Moms, I want you to lie down like this and put pillows here. Here. And here."

Luckily there were some extra pillows to be found. And two minutes later Orla was practically asleep on the floor with one hospital pillow here. One here. And one little pillow here. I was supposed to be putting my hand on the part of her body for her to focus her relaxation thoughts on. Head, shoulders, arm, hand, leg, foot. And when it came time for her to change positions I nearly had to shake her awake.

Before the class started we were talking to some of the other couples and they were complaining about having problems sleeping. "I guess we've been real lucky," I said, "Cause my wife doesn't seem to have any problems sleeping."

Opening presents.

Someone is starting Patricks Day celebrating young...

Circumference of bump winner

No - I did not miss out on Paddy's Day celebrations. The girls in RAND threw a great baby shower - it was wonderful and I got some super-soft outfits/toys and other Mammy essentials. Thanks to everyone for coming.

Many thanks to everyone for a fun-filled weekend. We had a great time and can't wait to add another little one to the mix.

Getting in a little practice with Avery - isn't she gorgeous?

Check out the baby shades!!

Just the begining of a wonderful suprise baby shower in San Diego with Dana, Gk, Kerry, Avery and Karen. The 'beach baby' theme was brilliant as were all the cute summery outfits for our little girl.

Weekend Events

We had a really busy/fun weekend. On Saturday morning Stephen and I headed down to Long Beach airport for Stephen's helicopter lesson. The helicopter was tiny, just a two man - it looked a bit like a toy really. Stephen really enjoyed it and got to take full control out over Long Beach Harbor. He did say it was really hard though - a lot harder than he was expecting I think. The rest of the afternoon was spent shopping for strollers - much easier. We still haven't decided on the one but after visiting a few different places, we have narrowed it down to three.
Sunday was 'paint the baby's room' day. We are painting it yellow, just in case she turns out to be he. It took us most of the day to get it done but the color worked out well - I'm looking forward to seeing it with the nursery furniture in. I'll put up a picture when it's ready.
That's about it - chilled out last night - watched 'Without a Paddle' which was a good laugh. Looking forward to heading down to San Diego next weekend to visit Gk, Kerry, Avery and Karen.
