July 2010

The holiday month! We started off in Michigan at the Philp family reunion. As always we had a fantastic time - the Philp's are a lot of fun and between poker, parades, BBQ's and swimming in the lake, I think we did it all. Cliona had an absolute ball playing with all her cousins and Brian survived being pushed to his limits. Poor guy - he started to do better with others holding him. Margie even rocked him to sleep one afternoon but by the time we got to Ireland, he was back to just wanting his Mommy.

Cliona and Brian did great on all the long flights to and from Ireland and after a couple of days of jet-lag, both got into the swing of Irish time.
The plan soon became Brian taking a morning nap at home and then everyone heading off somewhere in the afternoon. This worked for the most part, though we did have several bouts of cryin' Brian in the car on the way home from one of our adventures. Cliona got to meet as many people as she got to visit places.
Eoghan soon became Cliona's substitute Daddy. He played so well with her - they even went off to the movies together one afternoon.
Cliona's great-granduncle Larry came from London to see her and meet Brian. We had a great day out in Bray, at the fair by the sea. Larry was really good with Brian - kept him entertained and happy while Dad, Cliona and I went on all the rides.
Cliona also got to see great-granduncle Kevin, who had lots of stories of the great times he had when Eoghan and I were children - he was the fun uncle. Always making something funny and special. This time he commented how nice it is to see Eoghan doing the same with Clio.
We did have a few play dates with my friends Michelle and Debbie and their children. We now have 7 children between us so the indoor playground is a big hit!
Of course the most fun was at the house with Mam and Dad - princess tea-parties, silly games and just playing in her room, Cliona, Brian and I had a fantastic time!
