Clio's birthday party April 21st

We had a little party for Clio's 2nd birthday. Avery came up from San Diego, our friends and neighbours brought their little ones and Clio's friends from daycare came to help her celebrate.
Here's the girls venturing downstairs when they heard the bouncy had arrived. And one of Clio opening her presents, and Avery pretending to be Ernie!

Just some pictures of the party. Dana and Karen, Stephen, Clio, Josh and Jacqueline, Devin and Devon with Rodger looking on, Dana, Clio, Kerry and Avery reading a book and Clio pretending to be Ernie. I thought this would be such a cute idea - cut out Ernies face and the children could put their face in his spot. Turns out they were a bit young for that - not only was it a struggle to get them to put their face through but Ernie without a head didn't go down too well - poor Avery kept asking where Ernie was!

In the bouncy! Everyone loved bouncing. The adults went more crazy than the toddlers with their somersaults and basketball games. The little ones were content to walk from one side to another and bounce in the middle. Now Clio demands 'bounce' or 'boom boom' on the bed every evening - the bounce house obivously made a lasting impression.

April 20th

We've come a long way since 2005. It is amazing how much development can happen in two short years! Cliona has turned from the sweetest baby to the sweetest toddler. She always has a smile ready and loves to climb, jump and bounce. She has just started to pretend play with her new kitchen and shopping cart. She likes to sing the 'ABC' song and knows 'Twinkle twinkle' and 'Baa baa black sheep' too. Her favourite books are ones that rhyme, especially nursery rhymes. She's able to pick out what books she wants read and can usually get her point across so a proper conversation is just around the corner.

Florida

Tragically Stephen's father passed away on Easter sunday. We all flew to Florida for the funeral. It was a sad time but we also got to greet the two new additions to the Philp family, Karl and Ericka. We are posting the last picture of Graham taken on easter morning.

Despite the circumstances, it was great to see the everyone again and we did celebrate all the April birthdays.

We brought along a dvd player so the girls could keep up with the latest on Sesame Street. They also perfected their forward roll and had fun in the pool with Dana and Stephen. Baby Karl had his first dip with Grandpa Karl.

Easter

Dana, Stephen, Cliona and I spent Easter down in San Diego with Gk, Kerry and Avery. The girls had a great time playing together and we all went to a fabulous easter egg hunt and brunch at Jordan and Jen's. Clio really enjoyed picking up the eggs in plain sight but wasn't too crazy about putting her hand into bushes and flowers to retrieve them.
