November - Pre Fiji

As we are off to Fiji on Sat, I thought I'd update the blog before I left so that I can ramble about our first family vacation in the next post!
Not that November so far has not had it's fair share of excitement. We really enjoyed the Presidental election, brought Cliona to the polling station in the morning and then took her to a democratic party that evening to see Obama win! Exciting times - probably the first President Clio will remember.
A couple of weeks later we were in San Diego for Kat and Avery's birthday party and to take part in a 10K mud run. It was lovely to hang out with the Parish-Philps - Avery and Clio had a lot of fun together. They are such great playmates - it's so sweet to see them together.
Gk, Kerry and Dana looked after Cliona so that Stephen and I could meet up with friends and run a 10k mud run. It was so much fun running through mud pools, jumping over bales of hay and getting soaked by fire hoses. The 500ft accent I could have lived without but most everyone walked that part. It was suprisingly easy to run the 10k, probably due to all the distractions - I'm hoping it will be on our calendar every year :)

I posted all the photo's HERE...

Halloween 2008

Everyone missed Mam and Colette this year at Halloween. Dana mentioned them while we were carving pumkins, Cliona mentioned them while looking at old halloween photos and Stephen mentioned them as he dressed up as a clown.

But it was still a fun time - Stephen found a great pumpkin patch with a jumpee, pony ride and sheep and goats to feed. Cliona had a great time. She loved examining all the pumpkins, trying to decide which one to choose and I told her she could have any pumpkin she could lift. I didn't realise how strong that little girl is - she can pick up a lot of pumpkin :)

It was great having Dana over to carve pumpkins and again on Halloween. She painted our faces and then handed out candy to the kids while we went to Devins party and trick r treating. This year Cliona was Diego (tv character), I was his sister Alicia and Stephen decided a clown was better than trying to match the Diego theme as a baby jaguar. Not too many jaguar costumes out there, suprisingly :) Cliona loved being Diego and was well practiced at trick r treating by the time Halloween came around. She had us playing 'pretend trick r treating' in the house for weeks beforehand.

Clio was so happy to show Dana, Dave and Grandma (via skype) her loot when she got home.
